Our First Trip Down Under!

Hong Kong November 18 -23, 2018

This is how I felt after a 15 HOUR flight to HK

We just spent a week in Hong Kong on our first trip to Asia.  We had a LONG direct flight from LAX and took the Airport Express into the city from the airport.  We had only four days in this famous city but we did as much as we could!  We visited Lantau island to see the big Buddha, visited a fishing village, took an ocean cruise to see some Chinese sea life and of course we had REAL Chinese food!

We also visited Victoria peak for an outstanding view of the city.  Our hotel was in the center of the city and close to many sights, markets and great food places.  We rode the MRT, took a famous ferry to Kalwoon, visited a jade market for some gifts.  We shopped at Stanley Market, and had some more great Chinese food.  All in all, we had a fast paced great trip to Hong Kong!

Catalina Island November 9-10, 2018

We just returned from a quick weekend trip to Avalon on Catalina to celebrate my sister's birthday.  We took an early boat over then relaxed at the beach club.  Later in the day we had some great wine and cheese at our beautiful hotel followed by an outstanding birthday dinner at the Avalon Grill!  The next day we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast, an underwater tour and a round of mini-golf.  We ended our island visit with a nice dinner over the water on Avalon Bay.

We just returned from a birthday trip to San Diego to see Sam Smith in concert.  We had a great time! We Always love any time we can spend in the city by the bay to the South.

Miami & Cuba Cruise July 14 - 24, 2018

We just returned from our Summer trip to Miami, Key West and Cuba!  We had a great time!
We flew to Miami to spend a few days in Sunny Florida before departing on our tropical cruise to the islands.  The weather was beautiful!  We only had one day of tropical rain.  What could be better on a Summer vacation than sunny days at the beach, tropical drinks by the pool and some great dinners out on the town!

Our cruise departed Miami and stopped first in Key West
and then we cruised on to Cuba!  We stopped for two days
in Havana.  We took a tour of Cuba's capital city in a classic
car, had some great Cuban food, shopped for gifts and tried
to stay cool in HOT Havana.   We relaxed on the ship before
heading back to Miami.  We had a few more beach days on South Beach before heading home.  It was a great trip to a place not many have ventured to.

Weekend in L.A. June 29 - July 1, 2018

We decided to take a short stacation to Los Angeles.  We stayed at the re-done Sheraton Grand in downtown.  Our weekend trip included the usual amounts of food and drink before boarding the train home!  In our minds almost any trip is a good trip.

Las Vegas - June 3 - 6, 2018

We just returned from our first trip to Las Vegas in two years!  We stayed at the Bellagio this time and loved it.  As is the norm on a Vegas trip we relaxed by the pool, enjoyed some great food and drinks and spent time with great friends.  This trip was a outstanding way to kick off the summer!

London February 8 - 12, 2018

We took a quick trip to London, England in February; it was a such a deal we could not pass it up.  It was a great trip!  We saw the sights, had some great food and drink and took in a West end show.  Kinky Boots is not to be missed.  We stayed at a great hotel in Mayfair and had beautiful weather in jolly old London.  We will be back across the pond soon.

We love Vancouver!  A quick trip to this great city in Canada was the perfect way to start the winter holidays.  We found such a deal!  It was as always a very fun trip.  We flew up and took the Star Princess home to L.A.  It was the perfect getaway!
